The 34th Kolkata Book Fair

I was too tired to write for the last few days. Anyways it had been a great day yesterday!

Me, Aditi, Sreyashi, Rittika and Amrita had been to the book fair. It is being held at Milan Mela prangan and will be from 27th Jan-7th Feb. The location is just opposite to Science City.

We were supposed to meet at the Sodepur station at 11:30 am. Almost everybody came on time except my dear Sreyashi!! So we missed two trains and after that it was announced that no down trains would be coming soon as there were some problems in the lines at Kankinara! wow...what a start!! No we decided upon to take a bus only!(which was previously suggested by aditi!!)

We reached there at about 2pm(1hr late already as we had planned to get there within 1pm!).

Tickets cost Rs.5/- only. This year the Book Fair is having a Mexican theme. We started hopping various book stalls...and I ended up buying in total 6 Novels-all of them by young Indian writers!!(1 book was being gifted to me by my dear Rittika!). Aditi bought 3 and Sreyashi bought 2!! There were sooooo many books....i felt like buying off the entire shops! When i see these many good books, I just can't resist myself! In the meanwhile, we had our lunch from a Haldiram outlet...a combo meal! I also bought 2 books for maa--1 regarding flower plants and another a cooking book! We were hoping for having a Mexican lunch but ended up having Chinese as there was no Mexican food in the Mexican stall!! Only some Mexican music was being played and some books were on display! Took some snaps on Sreyashi's cell..

The whole area was very big...we were unable to find the exit and there was none whom we can ask coz no one knows! Anyways got out of there, took a taxi to Ultadanga station... Beautiful music was playing on the radio and even better tha cab driver gave us the remote control...so we could change the channels according to our likes!! It felt as if we were on our private car!! Took the train which was too crowded but somehow we managed! It might have been difficult for Aditi who is not a frequent train-traveller!

Overall, we all had an amazing day! We talked, laughed, played pranks,....we were so lively!! I was so exited! The books....i love them! I'm now the proud owner of 6 good books!! hahaha!!

But amidst all i got too tired after all the walking and all....so had to go to sleep right then!!

Now i'm awake at 4am and wanted greatly to write here....

Abohaman-The movie

Today i went to watch the movie 'Abohaman' with my mom n friend Rittika. The movie is being directed by Famous Rituparno Ghosh. His work is always being praised by everyone. But i myself is not much familiar with his movies coz i dont watch much Bengali films. But from the last year onwards i have started to watch Bengali movies(only the meaningful ones,obviously!)...Few months back i watched Rituda's last 'Sob Choritro Kalponik'. It was a bit difficult for me to digest though!

But 'Abohaman' is(according to me) much easier to interpret and u can easily understand what it wants to depict... It deals with a famous director Aniket(Dipankar) and his family and his extra marital affair with the heroine of his movie! Mamata Sankar as Deepti, the director's wife, Jisshu Sengupta as Apratim a.k.a Apu, his son and Ananya Chatterjee as Sikha, the heroine in his movie. Sikha comes to Aniket to work in his movie...but she is being liked more by his wife Deepti than him...so he selects him. Deepti helps Sikha to get accustomed to the new world of cinema(as until then she was just a small actor in theatres) and helps her to learn many things besides inspiring her to deliver perfect scenes. Sikha once tries to allure the director but he didn't respond! Aniket initially didn't give her much attention and used to humiliate her so much so that one day Sikha thinks of leaving the film halfway but Deepti makes her understand and to hold on the roll! Gradually, Aniket got involved with Sikha which was easily understood by his wife Deepti! So there arises the family problem! Their son Apratim supports his mother fully. Deepti makes everything clear with Aniket and tells him that she is not going to protest against anything although she is hurt! She endures the pain without ever complaining! This continues until the day when finally Aniket dies! Sikha comes running, leaving all her work, to their place, shedding tears...Deepti is not shedding any tears though she is obviously sad! Apu wants to make a film based on his father's real life, which his father himself wanted to do with him before dying!!

Ananya Chatterjee's acting is very good...Dipankar, Mamata and Jisshu were good too. The movie is worth watching... It basically tells how the life of a director is and of his family... 'Abohaman' means something that continues... so this string of events continues...

Today me, my mom and my friend rittika are going to watch "Abohoman"-the movie by Rituparno Ghosh. 5pm show at Jayanti. Hope the movie will be good! But Ritu da's movies are always too complex for me to understand! The last one i saw was "Sob Choritro Kalponik". How the movie suddenly ended i didn't understand tilldate! Will write how the movie went...

Beginning touch

I was thinking to create a blog for myself for many days now and finally today i got the time to create it! Today's morning didn't go well coz i was feeling very sad...y i dont know!! An unknown sadness filled my heart and mind! I didn't feel like this before...i cant explain how i was feeling! I was wishing for a shoulder where i can cry...someone who would understand my feelings!!
But i know there's no one who can understand how i feel...

Suddenly i feel so lonely...so out of the world! I tell myself to get over it but i couldn't! Sometimes its too hard to listen to your mind!! You have to surrender to ur heart!
I was listening to a song 'you could be happy'...it was a very touchy song and i just kept listening to it...it felt felt my heart with a strange sadness...a fear to lose someone...

But thank God...got over it after going to mamabari...

My new friend from Argentina...Maria....couldn't chat with her for the last two days....she's having some problem with her internet connection!!
